After a packed fall premiere slate, December 2025’s most anticipated new TV releases bring long-delayed spinoffs, big-name projects, and several exciting specials. Partnering with predictive media analytics company Diesel Labs, ScreenRant has exclusive data analyzing TV titles with the most online engagement before their launch. Each series is assigned a hype score, measured by chatter across various online platforms.

The most-discussed new debuts are ranked by Attention Signals, which are calculated via measures such as likes, shares, comments, and views on social and video channels like Facebook and YouTube. This data provides valuable insights into which TV shows are making the biggest virtual impact on audiences ahead of their release, regardless of their reviews or ratings.

The attention scale metric is the percentage of attention based on the show or movie in the number one spot (which is represented as 100%).

Excluding the returns of established series, such as Fallout season 2 or Stranger Things season 5 volumes 2 and 3, December 2025’s brand-new TV drops kick off an exciting slate of stories ahead of the new year. From a new star-studded Western show to a Taylor Swift docuseries, this month includes some big debuts right around the holidays. Based on Diesel Labs’ data, here’s ScreenRant’s list of December 2025’s most-hyped new TV releases.

According to Diesel Labs’ data, the most anticipated TV release of December is The Game Awards 2025. Airing on Prime Video, the special event celebrates 2025’s top video games with awards like Game of the Year. The second-most hyped release of the month is Paramount+’s Little Disasters, the limited series starring Diane Kruger finally making its US debut. Close behind in anticipation is Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane, a new reality show following the life of designer Kimora Lee Simmons.

Also among the December 2025 TV shows and specials receiving the most buzz are the bloody and brutal sequel series Spartacus: House of Ashur, the Rowan Atkinson-starring comedy Man vs. Baby, and the 48th Annual Kennedy Center Honors, celebrating lifetime contributions of those in the performing arts to American culture. Those titles are followed by Disney+’s Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour – The End of an Era, a six-part docuseries focusing on Taylor Swift behind the scenes of The Eras Tour.

Rounding out the month’s most-talked-about debuts are The Abandons, Netflix’s new Old West action series starring Gillian Anderson and Lena Headey, Magnolia and HGTV’s Fixer Upper: Colorado Mountain Home, and the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2025, a televised special with performances from the national holiday concert tour.

With annual specials, dramas, reality series, documentaries, and comedies, there’s a large variety in the brand-new shows that are hitting the small screen in December 2025, keeping the momentum high before the 2026 TV release slate begins.
