*In an interview with TheWrap, director Tim Story said his upcoming projects include “Ride Along 3,” with Ice Cube and Kevin Hart expected to reprise their roles as buddy cops. The script is in development with series screenwriters Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi.
“We’re writing the script right now, we’re writing away and basically, I’m waiting to see some pages and we’re excited for the idea and what it can be and of course bringing Kevin [Hart] and Ice Cube back together because they are the greatest odd couple in the world,” Story said. “I’m impatiently waiting for a script to be given to me. We have some great ideas.”

The “Ride Along” movies have grossed more than $225 million at the domestic box office. Story directed both films. The first installment opened in 2014, and the second film debuted in 2016.

Story is currently working on “Humbug,” a contemporary story telling of “Scrooge,” which will also star Ice Cube. Hart’s concert movie, “Kevin Hart: What Now?” is opening on Friday and is expected to gross roughly $14 million.
