*Fox has convinced Christopher Darden to join its lineup of analysts for Sunday’s “O.J. Simpson: The Lost Confession?” special, the network announced Wednesday.

O.J.’s former prosecutor will join fellow analyst Judith Regan, the “If I Did It” author who conducted the original 2006 interview with Simpson that will be shown for the first time on Sunday.

https://player.waywire.com/?id=3EC393C6A7F55D6B&api_id=P37TMO2ZGHF&time=1520560521609&show_info=true&autoplay=1      Also on the panel is Eve Shakti Chen, a representative of the family of Nicole Brown Simpson and a friend of Nicole’s sister Denise Brown; Rita Smith: a senior advisor to the NFL on domestic violence and sexual assault who has also served as the executive director of the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence for nearly 23 years; and Jim Clemente, a retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent/Profiler and former New York City prosecutor.

Fox announced last week that they would finally air the special over 10 years after it was originally scheduled to premiere, under the name “If I Did It.” Hosted by Soledad O’Brien, the special will feature footage from Simpson’s 2006 interview with Regan.

Rupert Murdoch’s HarperCollins fired Regan after she interviewed Simpson and agreed to publish the book, “If I Did It,” based on the interview, in which the former Buffalo Bills running back hypothesized about how he could have killed Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, whose murders he had been acquitted of in 1994.

HarperCollins ultimately did not publish the book. Corporate sibling Fox Broadcasting shelved the special after several affiliates told the network they would refuse to air it.

Darden, a 15-year veteran of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, has opted to stay out of the public spotlight in recent years, and made only a few public appearances during FX’s “The People Vs. O.J. Simpson” run. The author and former Associate Professor of Law at Southwestern University School of Law previously served as a legal commentator for CNBC, CNN, Court TV and NBC.
