*This story has a familiar ring to it. In any event, details are still sketchy, but the bottom line is that R. Kelly has been arrested in Chicago by the NYPD and Homeland Security agents on sex-trafficking charges.

Kelly, 52, was taken into custody by NYPD detectives and federal investigators, according to law enforcement sources, a WNBC-TV report said Thursday night.

Specifically, Kelly was arrested on charges contained in a 13-count indictment returned in the Northern District of Illinois. Joseph Fitzpatrick, spokesperson for The U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Northern District, says the indictment includes charges of child porn and obstruction of justice.

Kelly’s arrest comes after he was arrested on several sexual abuse charges earlier this year.

n May, the singer was hit with 11 counts of sex assault in Illinois — charges that carry a mandatory minimum of six years in prison.

In February, the embattled R&B star was charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving four victims, three of whom were underage.

Kelly has pleaded not guilty in both cases and vigorously denied any wrongdoing.
