Minority owned businesses have been hit hard by the pandemic because of historically weaker relationship to banks and financial institutions, making it less likely that when the pandemic first hit they would have ready access to CARES funding. The PopUP Shop is an excellent opportunity for the City of Durham to play a role in helping promote black-owned businesses and encourage the public to show their support too.
