2026 Sets Up A Surreal $12 Billion Record For The MCU’s Hulk

While it’s not yet clear whether the Hulk will appear in Avengers: Doomsday, 2026 is still set to break a $12 billion record for the character even if he’s absent from the franchise’s next big crossover movie. The Hulk’s MCU movie roster is one of the more unusual in the franchise’s history, as various factors hold Marvel back from making further solo Hulk stories within the MCU timeline.

As such, the hero has instead largely served as a secondary character, appearing to tie different narrative threads together, and to provide the original MCU Avengers team with another beloved Marvel figure. Despite this complex track record, 2026 is set to bring a major $12 billion record to fruition for the Hulk – which is surreal to note given his relative lack of time in the MCU spotlight overall.

The Hulk’s MCU History Has An Almost $12 Billion Box Office Record – Even Though The Hero Hasn’t Had His Own Film Series

Despite being largely left out when it comes to having his own solo stories, the Hulk’s MCU box office tally is decidedly staggering thanks to the number of movies he’s appeared in alongside other heroes.

Though The Incredible Hulk only garnered around $265 million in terms of its worldwide box office total, the green goliath’s appearances in the MCU altogether have amassed a collective box office result of $11.3 billion (as per The Numbers), since the Hulk has played a part in a wide range of the franchise’s biggest movies.

    Movie Name

    Worldwide Box Office

    Avengers: Endgame

    $2.7 billion

    Avengers: Infinity War

    $2 billion

    The Avengers

    $1.5 billion

    Avengers: Age Of Ultron

    $1.3 billion

    Iron Man 3

    $1.2 billion

    Captain Marvel

    $1.1 billion

    Thor: Ragnarok

    $850 million

Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings

    $432 million

    The Incredible Hulk

    $265 million

Even if you don’t count the Hulk’s post-credits and mid-credits appearances in the likes of Iron Man 3, Captain Marvel, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings among these, the Hulk still would have an overall MCU box office total of $8.5 billion, which is surreal to note given that, unlike many other MCU heroes with these kinds of numbers, the Hulk hasn’t had his own MCU movie trilogy or full series.

The lowest any MCU Spider-Man movie has made thus far is Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s $878 million worldwide box office results, which is still a decidedly stellar gross. With this in mind, it seems the Hulk’s MCU box office record is set to increase to $12 billion in 2026, thanks to the character’s impending appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Indeed, it even seems possible that Spider-Man: Brand New Day could take the Hulk’s MCU box office record into the $13 billion ballpark, since this would require around $1.8 billion – which, while no small task, was accomplished by the franchise’s last Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home.

With the MCU’s Hulk currently showing no signs of going anywhere, it will be interesting to see what heights the Marvel hero’s box office record gets to in the coming years, even with the character seemingly set to remain a figure who only appears in crossover releases or in other heroes’ movies.
