    Amsterdam-based digital producer Nazar has introduced his first new album in 5 years. Demilitarize, the follow-up to Guerrilla, will arrive on April 25 by way of Hyperdub. At this time, the Angolan musician has shared the lead single “Anticipate,” which you’ll hearken to beneath.

    “With the album being introspective, I didn’t search to seize sounds from actual locations to boost it’s universe like on Guerilla,” Nazar defined in an announcement. “I needed to make it nearly metaphysical like creating sci-fi, with basic cyberpunk anime Ghost within the Shell being a core inspiration.”

    After releasing Guerrilla, Nazar contracted COVID-19 and his weakened immune system allowed his dormant tuberculosis analysis—which he’d incubated whereas dwelling in Angola—to take over his physique, leaving him gravely sick for a yr. Being pressured to grapple along with his personal mortality, in addition to a bourgeoning romance fueling him with love, impressed Nazar to create Demilitarize.
