Backwoodz Studioz founder and rapper billy woods has introduced a brand new album: Golliwog is out Might 9. The lead single is a collaboration with producer Kenny Segal known as “Misery.” Test it out beneath.
Discussing his new album in an announcement, woods stated, “After I was 9 years outdated I wrote a narrative about an evil golliwog. My mom learn it and informed me it was overly by-product and wanted some work. Right here we’re.”
Along with Segal, Golliwog has manufacturing from the Alchemist, El-P, Shabaka Hutchings, DJ Haram, Conductor Williams, and others, together with visitor verses from Armand Hammer’s Elucid, Definitive Jux alumnus Despot, New Orleans rapper Cavalier, and extra.
Golliwog will observe woods’ two standout collaborative initiatives from 2023: Maps (with Kenny Segal) and We Buy Diabetic Test Strips (with Elucid). Examine Maps at No. 14 in Pitchfork’s “The 100 Best Albums of the 2020s So Far.”
