Julión Álvarez Forced to Postpone US Show Due to Visa Issues

Mexican celebrity Julión Álvarez y Su Norteño Banda have postponed their live performance scheduled in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday, allegedly because of visa points.

In an announcement posted to Instagram on Friday, Álvarez claimed that his work visa has been revoked, stopping him from getting into america for the sold-out efficiency on the AT&T Stadium. Reportedly, the stage was already set for the present, and over 50,000 tickets had been bought.

“Sadly, the occasion is not going to go on as deliberate because of our work visa being cancelled,” Álvarez mentioned. “It’s not potential for us to go to america and fulfill our present promise with all of you. It’s one thing out of our management. That’s the knowledge I’ve, and it hurts… It’s an occasion that was fully bought out.”

In line with a press launch shared by Álvarez, his workforce is now working with promoters CMN and Copar Music to reschedule the efficiency. As of now, those that have already bought tickets have been advised that their tickets would stay legitimate for the rescheduled date, however refunds can be found upon request.

This isn’t the primary time Álvarez has had visa points. In 2017, his US work visa was revoked after the US Treasury Division alleged he had ties to a drug trafficking operation. He maintained his innocence — claiming his connection was restricted to an actual property connection — and was ultimately faraway from the sanctions listing in 2022.

He regained his work visa this 12 months, and carried out three sold-out live shows at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA, final month, marking his first US reveals in eight years. Now, it’s not sure when he’ll return.

Álvarez is considered one of a number of musicians who’ve been pressured to change touring plans because of visa points as of late, together with FKA Twigs (who dropped out of Coachella due to visa problems) and Bells Larsen (who was successfully unable to use for a visa as a result of he’s trans).
