Cryptocurrency Investor Arrested After Allegedly Torturing Man For Weeks

A cryptocurrency investor has been arrested and charged in New York Metropolis after he allegedly tortured a person for weeks — with studies claiming he was making an attempt to acquire passwords associated to cryptocurrency.

John Woeltz — a 37-year-old Kentucky man — was arrested Friday after a 28-year-old man allegedly escaped a home within the metropolis’s SoHo neighborhood. NYPD tells TMZ he instructed a police officer he’d been held captive and tortured for weeks.

In line with studies … Woeltz allegedly lured the person — who’s believed to have had prior enterprise dealings with Woeltz — to a home on Could 6.

As soon as there, the New York Post claims Woeltz took his passport, tied him up with electrical cords … and, then tortured him over the 2 weeks in an effort to get his Bitcoin password.

Among the many alleged torture strategies … the alleged sufferer was reportedly compelled to take cocaine, hit with a pistol, subjected to tasering whereas his toes have been underwater and threatened with an electrical chainsaw. The alleged sufferer was taken to Bellevue Hospital.

Woeltz was arrested whereas sporting a bathrobe — he was seen later leaving the police precinct in a white T-shirt. A 24-year-old lady was additionally reportedly arrested in connection to the alleged crimes although cops couldn’t affirm it.

In line with NYPD, Woeltz was charged with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree illegal imprisonment, second-degree assault, and legal possession of a weapon.
