    Gorillaz Announce New Album The Mountain, Share New Song Featuring Sparks: Listen

    Damon Albarn has formally introduced the primary new Gorillaz album since 2023. The follow-up to Cracker Island known as The Mountain, and it’s out March 20 by way of the band’s personal new label, Kong. Main the 15-track launch is a track that includes Sparks titled “Happy Dictator.” Take heed to the brand new single under.

    The Mountain was produced by Gorillaz, James Ford, Samuel Egglenton, and Remi Kabaka Jr., with extra contributions from Argentine producer Bizarrap. The album was recorded at Albarn’s Studio 13, in London, in addition to his studio in Devon, England, and areas in Mumbai, New Delhi, Rajasthan, and Varanasi, India; Ashgabat, Turkmenistan; Damascus, Syria; Los Angeles; Miami; and New York.

    As is usually the case with Gorillaz albums, The Mountain is full of visitors, and, this time, artists are performing in 5 languages: Arabic, English, Hindi, Spanish, and Yoruba. Contributors to the brand new album embody Idles, Kara Jackson, Yasiin Bey, Johnny Marr of the Smiths, Black Considered the Roots, Anoushka Shankar, and Omar Souleyman. Moreover, the album consists of the voices of numerous deceased figures, together with Bobby Womack, Dave “Trugoy the Dove” Jolicoeur, actor Dennis Hopper, the Fall’s Mark E. Smith, Detroit rapper Proof, and Tony Allen. See the tracklist for The Mountain under.
