Ace Frehley, the unique lead guitarist for KISS, died after being taken off a ventilator following a nasty fall and a mind bleed … and tributes are pouring in from tons of rockers, together with his KISS bandmates Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley.
In a press release to TMZ, Gene and Paul say … “We’re devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley. He was a necessary and irreplaceable rock soldier throughout a number of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and its historical past. He’s and can all the time be part of KISS’s legacy. Our ideas are with Jeanette, Monique and all those that beloved him, together with our followers around the globe.”

Former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick says “Ace’s passing is devastating to the world of rock. It has deeply affected me as effectively. He was one in all a form and really an iconic guitar participant. His simple position within the creation and success of KISS can’t be forgotten. Not solely was he beloved by all, he influenced tens of millions of guitarists around the globe.”

Guitarist Tom Morello says Ace was his “first guitar hero.” He says Ace “impressed generations to like rock n roll and love rock n roll guitar taking part in. His timeless riffs and solos, the billowing smoke coming from his Les Paul, the rockets taking pictures from his headstock, his cool spacey onstage wobble and his unforgettable loopy chortle might be missed however won’t ever be forgotten.”
We broke the story … Ace was hospitalized and on life support, respiratory by a ventilator after falling in his studio and struggling a mind bleed.
Ace’s household took him off the ventilator Thursday, and he died. He was 74.
