Shraddha Kapoor recently began filming Eetha. The film is a biopic on legendary Tamasha artiste Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar. However, the actress has sustained an injury that has forced the production team to halt shooting. According to multiple reports, the actress fractured the toe of her left foot while performing an intense Lavani dance sequence on the Nashik set.

As per a Mid-day report, Shraddha was shooting a folk dance sequence before she got injured. This dance number is composed by Ajay–Atul.  Dressed in a vibrant Nauvari saree, adorned with heavy jewellery and a kamarpatta, she was executing rapid steps set to the fast-paced beats of the dholki. A source also revealed that the actress has also put on over 15 kilos. She has done this in order to portray the younger version of Vithabai authentically. “During one of the steps, she accidentally placed her full weight on her left foot and lost balance, leading to a toe fracture,” the insider shared.

Director Laxman Utekar reportedly decided to call off the day’s shoot immediately. Despite this, Shraddha, determined not to lose momentum, suggested shooting close-up shots instead. After returning to Mumbai, the team shifted to a Madh Island set, where she filmed a few emotional scenes. But as her pain worsened after a couple of days, the unit had no choice but to pause filming entirely. The crew is expected to resume work after two weeks. This is once Shraddha makes a full recovery.

The upcoming film marks one of the most challenging and emotionally demanding roles of Shraddha’s career. Having last appeared in Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank (2024), the actress has been selective about her projects, gravitating towards performance-driven scripts.

Shraddha Kapoor was last seen in Stree 2, which was released in August last year. Though she hasn’t had a release this year, she stays connected to her fans through her interactive social media accounts.
