Prime Video Removes AI Recaps Over Fallout Season 1 Errors

Prime Video has pulled its AI-powered content recaps after one of them got details about Fallout Season 1 wrong.

The feature relies on AI to analyze key plot points in its shows to sum them up in bite-sized videos that feature clips and AI voiceovers. Prime Video began rolling out the video recaps in November for shows like Fallout, The Rig, Bosch, and Upload.

As spotted by Games Radar, however, viewers recently noticed an inaccuracy in the Season 1 recap of Fallout. In the video, a flashback for The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) is incorrectly referred to as being set in “1950s America” when it actually takes place in the year 2077. The recap also claims The Ghoul gave protagonist Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell) a choice to “die or leave with him” to find her father, when in reality, the situation was slightly different.

Fallout Season 2 premieres on Prime Video on December 17th. In a recent interview with IGN, Fallout executive producer Jonathan Nolan revealed that the third season of the show will begin filming next summer.

“Well, I say with regards to production, we’re hoping to be shooting again next summer,” said Nolan. “We’ll see if that all comes together. Best laid plans and all, but I’m excited that the scope of the show feels undiminished season-on-season. Geneva and Graham our incredibly talented cast and crew, were able to work quickly enough to get back on the air in a reasonable amount of time.”
