Earlier this month, Donald Trump’s hand-picked Kennedy Center board of trustees made the unfortunate, though unsurprising, decision to rename the once-prestigious venue as “The Donald J. Trump and The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.” Comedian and activist Toby Morton, however, saw the move coming from a mile away, buying the domains “trumpkennedycenter.org” and “trumpkennedycenter.com” back in August in anticipation.
“As soon as Trump began gutting the Kennedy Center board earlier this year, I thought, ‘Yep, that name’s going on the building,’” Morton told The Washington Post.
Morton, who previously worked on projects like South Park and Mad TV, is now the sole owner of the two newly-valuable domains. Both are currently parked via GoDaddy, showing automatically generated syndicated content at the time of this writing, though Morton has hinted that he’ll be taking the sites properly live in the near future.

“[What they show now] isn’t intentional content on my part and will disappear once the domains are pointed to active hosting,” he told USA Today.
Morton has made a habit out of such stunts, particularly when it comes to nabbing domain names that sound legitimate in the name of satirizing various politicians and organizations. Previous targets include Marjorie Taylor Greene, Andrew Cuomo, Joel Osteen, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Greg Abbott, among others, and he describes himself as the “creator of anti-fascist websites” on his Instagram page.
According to Morton, the response thus far has been “overwhelmingly positive,” as he described to USA Today.
“I’ve received a large number of messages from creatives, writers, designers, and performers offering to contribute and help elevate what comes next,” he wrote. “That enthusiasm is shaping the direction of the upcoming site, which will focus squarely on Trump’s narcissism, branding impulses, and the broader cultural implications of attaching his name to institutions that were meant to be civic, not personal.”
Adding to that sentiment, Morton took to Instagram to share that “a few longtime heroes” of his are now “quietly on board.” He also signed off with a poignant message: “PRO TIP: Maybe don’t mess with an institution like The Kennedy Center? The support is growing. Watch this space.”
As of now, the official website for Kennedy Center remains kennedy-center.org, though Trump’s name is prominently featured at the top of the page.
While Morton didn’t work on the latest season of South Park, the show has also taken aim at Trump’s ridiculous antics. Check out our reviews for the South Park Season 27 and 28 episodes here, and see where the series landed on our list of the Best Shows of 2025.
