Christian Concert Accidentally Tagged as Lamb of God Show

Lamb of God continues to be one of the most successful metal bands working today. They’ve got their own cruise, made an appearance at Black Sabbath’s “Back to the Beginning,” and — most prestigious of all, of course — were crowned Consequence’s Heavy Band of the Year in 2022. So, headbangers in South Carolina must have been pretty excited when a listing for a new show on December 20th popped up on StubHub. In reality, the performance was Andrew Peterson’s “Behold the Lamb of God,” a Christian music concert that had been mistakenly tagged as a gig for the Virginia-based metal band. The Lord works in mysterious ways!

Leading up to the performance, which went down at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium and presented songs about the birth of Jesus Christ, the event’s listing on StubHub boasted a featured image of Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe and was promoted as a top-trending event for the venue. Meanwhile, the band isn’t set to perform until March 2026 (see the list of upcoming dates here, and get actual tickets here), with no dates currently set for South Carolina — though maybe a cheeky, make-good event is now in order.

After recognizing the error, StubHub issued an apology and offered refunds for those who bought tickets to the performance.

“We acknowledge the listing for the December 20th event at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium was misleading and apologize for the confusion this caused,” a StubHub spokesperson said. “Ahead of the show we updated the event page and reached out to customers to clarify the event details. Anyone who purchased tickets under the impression this was a different performance is encouraged to contact us — we’ll honor a full refund under our FanProtect Guarantee.”

Blythe also commented on the mix-up, taking to Instagram to post a story poking fun at the situation, signing off with a tongue-in-cheek “Merry Christmas, Spartanburg.”
