Looking for something addictive to stream this weekend, January 9–11, 2026? These three Netflix series are trending now and deliver thrilling and immersive binge-watching experiences from start to finish.

Screen Rant’s TV experts have hand-picked the very best and most viral shows on Netflix right now – all of which just arrived on the platform within the last few days. Don’t miss these 3 must-binge instant classics that everyone will be talking about this weekend.

    Prodigal Son

Both seasons of the celebrated psychological crime thriller series Prodigal Son just dropped on Netflix on Friday, January 9. A fan-favorite hit among fans, the series stars Michael Sheen as Dr. Martin Whitly, an infamous serial killer, whose son – a former FBI profiler named Malcom Bright (Tom Payne) – solves crimes for the NYPD, fearing he may be a murderer like his father.

If you’re a fan of complex serial killer series like Dexter, Prodigal Son is a fantastic choice to binge this weekend. The series, which originally aired on Fox for 2 seasons and 33 episodes from 2019 to 2021, just made its first-ever debut on Netflix after only being able to stream on Hulu and HBO Max. Don’t miss this modern TV classic with an 86% Rotten Tomatoes audience score on Netflix.

    11.22.63

While Netflix has built a reputation for its sharp original thrillers like Harlan Coben’s Run Away and The Beast in Me, it also provides older series that still hold up, even 10 years after their release. Such is the case for 11.22.63, an 8-part sci-fi thriller series adapted from Stephen King’s acclaimed novel of the same name.

11.22.63 made its first-ever debut on Netflix on Wednesday, January 7, and has instantly become a Top 3 streaming hit in the U.S. The series, which originally dropped on Hulu, follows the immersive story of Jake Epping (James Franco), an ordinary teacher who discovers a portal to go back in time and attempts to stop the assassination of John F. Kennedy. With 8 total episodes, this series makes an outstanding weekend binge.

    His & Hers

Following its series premiere on Thursday, January 8, His & Hers has skyrocketed to the very top of Netflix’s U.S. and worldwide streaming charts. As Netflix’s #1 show heading into the weekend, there’s no better new series to recommend right now than this gripping and viral 6-part murder mystery.

His & Hers features the strong leading duo of Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson. The former plays Jack Harper, a detective investigating a murder in a small town where journalist Anna Andrews (Thompson) is from. Anna returns to investigate the murder herself and begins to suspect that Jack knows more about the killing than meets the eye.

For a truly compelling series that will keep you hooked from start to finish – and could even be watched in just one sitting – there’s no better show to binge-watch this weekend on Netflix than this #1 tending hit.
