This article contains spoilers for The Traitors US season 4, episodes 4 and 5.
Season 4 of The Traitors returned to Peacock with two new episodes. As a recap of The Traitors episodes 1–3, Donna Kelce was banished by the roundtable, which ended up being the right choice because she was the Secret Traitor. Big Brother’s Ian Terry and The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Porsha Williams were also murdered and banished.
In episodes 4 and 5, tensions were high, and feelings were torn. Colton Underwood was the alpha male of the group, leading most of the cast in his direction of thinking. Was he right, or would the cast assume he had a loud personality to deflect from him being a Traitor?
Lisa Rinna, Candiace Dillard-Bassett, and Rob Rausch are the Traitors hiding in plain sight, and they have not been suspected by the group… yet.
Episode 4: “Cut The Head Off The Snake”
The fourth episode opens with a recap of the previous episodes before showing viewers who the Traitors banished: Caroline Stanbury. As a fellow Housewife, Lisa Rinna thought murdering another Housewife would throw everyone off her track, and they were right.
Colton Underwood strongly suggested Tiffany Mitchell was the villain, which was a bold move considering how strategic and strong a game player Tiffany is after appearing on Big Brother. Colton spent most of the morning trying to get people on his side to vote her off.
As interesting as the suggestions were, breakfast scenes can be a little boring as the cast waits for Alan Cumming’s lead for the first challenge. In episode 4, the group had to go into the woods and find spears. They then had to light the spear on fire and launch it at a massive beast.
The only catch is that every single person had a shield on a beast, and whoever found the spear could set another person’s shield on fire. Those whose shields were burned were up for dismissal at the next roundtable.
In the end, Ron Fuches, Tiffany Mitchell, Monét X-Change, Michael Rapaport, Tara Lapinski, Stephen Colletti, Lisa Rinna, Maura Higgins, Johnny Weir, and Yam Yam were vulnerable. Tensions were high among the group after the mission, with cast members fuming that so-called trusted friends lit their shield ablaze, leaving them vulnerable to exile.
Maura, especially, was gunning for Ron after he lit her shield, and Colton was still trying to convince the group that Tiffany was enemy number one because of her strategy to get rid of players. That night at the round table, they all had their moment defending themselves and pointing fingers at others.
The most shocking moment was when Eric Nam suggested Tiffany was the Traitor because he was “99% sure” he had heard her laugh after he made a private plea to the Traitors. Ultimately, Colton and Eric’s efforts succeeded, and Tiffany was banished. Unfortunately for the group, they voted off the wrong person, as she was a Faithful.
Episode 5: “If You’re Gonna Come for Me, I’ll Finish You”
Season 4’s “If You’re Gonna Come for Me, I’ll Finish You” started its usual chaos at the breakfast table, where the cast members waited to see who was murdered the night before. One by one, the cast entered the dining room, except Monét X-Change. The Traitors murdered him after he caught on to the fact that Lisa Rinna was a Traitor.
Because Monét was so kind, many were shocked and disappointed by his “death.” This led to the group casting their views on who the Traitors were. The cast soon became suspicious of Colton Underwood and Ron Funches, with small cliques joining to bring them down. Many thought they were both aggressive with their viewpoints and cunning.
After discussing the latest murder, the group went on their first mission of the day, which took place at the Fountain of the Faithful on the castle’s grounds. They then had to go into murky water to find tokens that had additional fountain statues pictured on them.
Shields that protected them from murder could also be found by the statues, but would the group take them? The biggest twist was that if the group collectively chose not to take a shield, they could stop that night’s murder. This would throw a huge wrench into the Traitors’ plans.
When the group completed their mission, Alan didn’t reveal whether anyone had taken a shield privately or not. With the mission completed, suspicions flew around the group. Once again, Colton led the room with allegations against Michael. Ron also assumed Michael was a Traitor because he seemed paranoid.
To Michael’s credit, he reminded Colton that he was wrong about voting for Tiffany, who was a Faithful and not a Traitor. Colton was almost too aggressive with his accusations, making him look like a Traitor to Michael.
That night at the round table, it was Colton versus Michael, but Michael took things a step too far in defending himself by saying, “Nobody in this room would be better at holding a secret than you.” The statement was in reference to Colton being a closeted gay man while competing on The Bachelorette.
At this point, the group wanted Michael gone because of his upsetting and abrasive behavior, not necessarily because they thought he was a Traitor. He was soon banished by the group, despite being a Faithful.
By the end of the episode, Colton continued steamrolling the others, which raised the question of whether he was a true Traitor. However, when Colton moved targets to Lisa Rinna, the Traitors soon had to decide whether to banish him or to keep him alive. If they don’t murder Colton, he will gun for Lisa in the next episode. Find out what happened when The Traitors season 4, episode 6 releases on January 22, 2026, at 9 PM EST on Peacock.
