Two of the biggest sci-fi stars from Apple TV will seemingly share the screen in an upcoming thriller movie. This makes it hard not to believe that the movie will be perfect for fans of Pluribus and Severance.
The updates surrounding Severance season 3’s production suggest that it is not coming out anytime before 2027. Since Pluribus season 1 also ended its run just now, its next installment can also not be expected to be out before the end of 2027. This leaves fans of both shows with a massive void that an upcoming thriller might surprisingly fill.
Upcoming Thriller, Sender, Stars Severance’s Britt Lower & Pluribus’ Rhea Seehorn
After their leading roles in Severance and Pluribus, respectively, Britt Lower and Rhea Seehorn are easily among the best sci-fi stars from Apple TV’s line of shows. Both were also recently nominated for the Golden Globes for their performances in the Apple TV sci-fi shows. While Rhea Seehorn took the win, Britt Lower was considered a solid contender in her own right.
Surprisingly, both Rhea Seehorn and Britt Lower have now been cast in an upcoming thriller titled Sender.
Even if one of them was a part of the upcoming movie’s roster, it, alone, would have been enough to encourage many viewers to be hyped about it. However, the fact that it stars both makes it even more exciting even though little seems to be known about the movie so far.
The movie does not even have an official trailer yet, but the mere prospect of Rhea Seehorn and Britt Lower sharing the screen is more than enough to spark intrigue.
Sender Seems Like The Perfect Thriller For Both Severance & Pluribus Fans
Sender is based on director Russell Goldman’s short film Return to Sender. It follows the story of a woman (played by Britt Lower) who grows increasingly obsessed with finding the identity of the sender of an anonymous package after learning that it is an e-commerce package delivery scam.
From its premise, Sender sounds like a gripping psychological mystery box thriller that riffs on modern fears surrounding technology to explore paranoia, digital surveillance, and privacy.
It is hard not to see how these mystery box elements alone make the movie the perfect thriller for fans of Pluribus and Severance. While the details of Rhea Seehorn’s role in the film remain unknown, her involvement in the project with Britt Lower proves it is one movie Severance and Pluribus fans may not want to miss.
Sender’s Cast Also Includes Two Horror Staples
Apart from Rhea Seehorn and Britt Lower, Sender also includes horror staples, Jamie Lee Curtis and David Dastmalchian, in its cast. The fact that so many talented actors have agreed to be a part of its roster, even though it marks director Russell Goldman’s feature film debut, speaks volumes about the strength of its script.
Although the movie seems slightly under the radar right now, it will likely gain more hype after its official trailer is dropped. With so much already going in its favor and the Severance and Pluribus stars as its leads, Sender could not only become an impressive debut for Goldman but also one of the best thrillers of 2026.
