Fallout season 2 has returned with a bang, and Prime Video just shared an early peek at how the video game adaptation is performing.
The streaming platform revealed that the most recent installment of Fallout is currently its highest-performing season after Reacher season 3, which launched in February 2025. The update comes with two episodes left of the popular video adaptation. According to Amazon, Fallout season 2 also ranks as the sixth most-watched TV season in Prime Video history. It follows The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power seasons 1 and 2, Reacher seasons 2 and 3, and Fallout season 1.
These statistics prove that Fallout continues to draw in audiences from all over the world. This is likely due to the massive success of the video game it’s based on. Amazon says international viewers account for 53% of the show’s audience for season 2 so far, especially in the UK, Germany, and Brazil. It is also one of the best-performing TV seasons of all time for men between the ages of 18 and 34.
According to Deadline, Amazon MGM Studios described Fallout season 2’s reception as a step up from the first, citing stronger scores from critics on review sites such as Rotten Tomatoes. The Head of Global TV at Amazon MGM Studios, Peter Friedlander, explained that he believed the show would continue to do well, if not better, as the two remaining episodes drop.
We are thrilled with the Fallout S2 reception from audiences and critics globally. After its first four weeks, Fallout S2 already ranks as the sixth most watched season ever on Prime Video and is even higher rated on Rotten Tomatoes than S1. More than half of the season’s audience to-date has come from outside the U.S., and we’re excited for even more viewers to discover the show as we continue to release new episodes over the weeks ahead
Despite the success, the company still won’t release the specific viewership numbers. Amazon’s decision to keep the figures hidden has sparked online speculation about whether Fallout is actually doing as well as they claim it is. However, others are assuming that Amazon is just waiting for the full season to come out before providing more details.
Prime Video also changed its release strategy for Fallout season 2, opting to air one episode per week like a normal TV show instead of dropping the entire season all at once as it did for the first installment. This change makes it harder to draw comparisons between the two for the general audience.
Fallout releases new episodes every Wednesday on Prime Video.
