After Grand Theft Auto 6 was hit with a second release date delay that pushed the game’s launch to November 19, 2026, it sent shockwaves throughout the industry, impacting nearly every developer and studio’s plans for the year. The delay is so massive that even huge releases like Halo: Campaign Evolved have been affected.
According to estimates from insider Jason Schreier (via X), it appears GTA 6′s second delay may have thrown a wrench into Halo Studios’ plans to release the Halo: CE Remake in November. Schreier believes that because Halo’s 25th anniversary falls on November 15, the GTA 6 November 19 delay eliminates that date as a viable release option.
GTA 6’s Second Delay May Have Impacted Halo
Grand Theft Auto 6 is clearly one of the biggest releases of the decade, with hype around the game being at an all-time high and the potential scale of its launch likely to reach an absurd number of players worldwide. The game’s release date, however, has left fans on edge since it received a second delay last year, pushing the launch into late 2026.
While this was a devastating announcement for GTA 6 itself, it also sent massive shockwaves throughout the industry, affecting large and small video game companies alike. With the release of Halo: Campaign Evolved scheduled for 2026, Jason Schreier believes Halo Studios may have had to make the unfortunate decision to postpone or move up the “perfect” release date of November 15, Halo’s official 25th anniversary date.
Currently, Halo: Campaign Evolved doesn’t have a specific release date scheduled outside of a general 2026 launch window, but it’s pretty clear that November 15 is way too close to GTA 6‘s announced November 19 launch.
It Makes Sense Halo Would Want To Avoid GTA 6
While Halo: Campaign Evolved is an incredibly exciting and massive 2026 launch, GTA 6 is in a league of its own, and any major game that launches this year is going to want to avoid its blast radius. The Halo: CE Remake isn’t even close to the only big release of 2026 affected, with just about every major studio (and even indie devs) reworking their plans based on avoiding GTA 6’s launch.
While it might be frustrating for studios, fans might actually benefit from GTA 6′s late-2026 launch. If studios still want to maintain their 2026 promises, any game that was potentially going to release in November is likely going to be moved up sooner in the year. That said, it could also mean that many games will get pushed back to 2027 to avoid rushing to market and attempting to dodge GTA 6.
However, Halo: Campaign Evolved is likely to be in the former category based on the hype Halo Studios is building around the Halo CE remake projects and additional remake announcements likely on the way. It doesn’t seem like the studio is poised to announce a delay beyond 2026, and if they’re avoiding November, we could very well see Halo: Campaign Evolved sooner rather than later.
