Pokémon cannot be stopped. It’s making the equivalent of some country’s GDP on a monthly basis, and there are so many different arms of the business that are all making money; it’s far from the fad that many parents expected it would be in the ’90s. From the physical trading card game to multiple digital iterations of the TCG, to the mainline games and spinoffs, it’s an endless cycle.

That cycle also includes merchandise. The Pokémon Center is ready and willing to provide merch for fans of pretty much any Pokémon, even the ones that are less popular. In this case, though, you may want to perk up a bit, because they’re fan favorites.

Over on the official Pokémon Center website, you can grab two exclusive Squishmallows right now. They’re based on an iconic starter and an evolution of an iconic Pokémon, which could also be considered a starter of sorts.

Live now on the Pokémon Center website, you can find 12-inch Squishmallow plush for Oshawott and Raichu. With an embroidered Pokémon Center Poké Ball logo on the back, these are official Squishmallow releases, and they clock in at 10 inches wide, and cost $29.99 USD.

Here’s the breakdown of that exclusivity: “In a 12-inch size that’s exclusive to Pokémon Center, this ultra-squeezable Raichu Squishmallows plush is made with soft, high-quality materials and features Raichu’s adorable smile and curly ears. It’s perfect for snuggling in the car, on the plane, or at home during a Pokémon movie marathon.”

While Oshawott hails from the fifth generation of Pokémon games (Black & White), Raichu is an evolved form of Pikachu, who has been a starter of a sort in two games: Pokémon Yellow and Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu. It remains a popular part of Pokémon culture, playing roles in other forms of Pokémon media.

Plus, it even got two Mega forms thanks to the release of the Pokémon Legends: Z-A DLC, Mega Dimension. Given that Raichu is eternally connected to Pikachu, it’ll always be in the limelight to a degree.

Speaking of the fifth generation of Pokémon, we’re still waiting for confirmation of Generation 5 remakes. All eyes were on the recent Pokémon Presents, which unveiled the 10th Gen of Pokémon via Winds & Waves, but there wasn’t even a hint of a Gen 5 remake project. Leaks have suggested that it’s not even in development, which would be a huge change in pace, given that the series has been getting remakes for Generations 1-4 over the years.

As mentioned earlier, though, Pokémon will be around for many decades to come, so there are plenty of chances to deliver a Generation 5 remake at some point.
