Anime fans eager to see more of Gachiakuta finally have something concrete to look forward to. Crunchyroll has confirmed that the dark fantasy hit will take center stage at Anime Expo on July 3, where attendees will get their first official look at Season 2. While the announcement is exciting news for viewers who have been waiting for updates, it comes with one important limitation: the series still does not have a confirmed premiere window.

The upcoming showcase will be part of Crunchyroll’s massive Anime Expo lineup in Los Angeles, according to ComicBook. Alongside major franchises such as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, and The Apothecary Diaries, Gachiakuta will receive a dedicated panel focused entirely on the future of the series. For fans of Studio BONES’ gritty adaptation, the event represents the clearest indication yet that Rudo’s story is moving forward.

Gachiakuta Season 2 Will Be Revealed at Anime Expo

Crunchyroll has scheduled a special Gachiakuta event titled “Return to the Pit” for July 3 at 10 a.m. at the Peacock Theater during Anime Expo. The presentation will celebrate the anime’s first season while also offering attendees an exclusive preview of what lies ahead. Most notably, fans will be shown new footage from Season 2 before it is released publicly.

The panel will feature several key figures behind the anime, including Rudo voice actor Aoi Ichikawa, director Fumihiko Suganuma, and producer Naoki Amano. Their participation suggests that the discussion will go beyond a simple retrospective and offer meaningful details about the next chapter of the adaptation.

However, that is where the catch comes in. Despite the promise of new footage and behind-the-scenes discussion, Studio BONES has not announced when Gachiakuta Season 2 will actually premiere. The Anime Expo presentation may provide that information, but for now fans only have a date for the reveal itself rather than the anime’s return.

Why Fans Are So Eager for Rudo’s Return

Part of the anticipation surrounding Gachiakuta Season 2 comes from the first season’s increasingly dark storytelling. The series follows Rudo, a young man who is falsely accused of murdering his adoptive father, Regto, and cast into a massive wasteland filled with supernatural dangers and discarded trash. His journey through this hostile environment has quickly become one of the most unique stories in modern anime.

The anime also gained attention for tackling unusually heavy subject matter. Among the most talked-about storylines was the tragic history of Amo, whose traumatic past and psychological scars added another layer of darkness to an already bleak world. Her story became one of the season’s most emotionally powerful arcs and proved the series’ willingness to explore difficult themes.

July 2nd Is Going To Be A Good Day For Delicious in Dungeon Fans Hungry For Season 2

With Studio Trigger remaining tight-lipped about the show’s return, Delicious in Dungeon fans should get excited about news on July 2, 2026.

Meanwhile, Studio BONES remains one of the busiest animation studios in the industry. Although its long-running hit My Hero Academia reached its conclusion earlier this year, the studio continues to develop several major projects, including SK8 the Infinity, Daemons of the Shadow Realm, and Bungo Stray Dogs Wan!. Even with a packed schedule, the upcoming Anime Expo panel makes it clear that Gachiakuta is a huge part of the studio’s future plans.
