Xbox Game Pass Makes Iconic 140-Hour JRPG Free To Download

Fans of huge games on Xbox Game Pass, particularly JRPGs, should know that an iconic beast with over 140 hours of gameplay has just been made entirely free to download and play. There have been many exciting new additions to Microsoft’s subscription service this year, including the first pixel-era Final Fantasy games down to Death Stranding and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Very soon, a sci-fi day-one release arrives on Xbox Game Pass, too, further expanding the catalog with more options to check out.

While there’s still a lot to look forward to in the future, the catalog has just opened its doors to a new and huge JRPG. According to HowLongToBeat, it could take you over 140 hours to beat everything this game has to offer. Even if you focus solely on the main campaign, you’ll likely spend over 100 hours with the game. If you’re a fan of throwing yourself into a game and feeling fully immersed, you can’t skip this new addition.

Persona 5 Royal Which Social Stats To Prioritize First

Persona 5 Royal on Xbox Game Pass represents the game’s return to the service, now in its complete form. While Persona 5 had been made available on the catalog before and has since been removed, the Royal version of the game offers the base game plus all the additional DLC. This includes the additional story content you can explore, which wasn’t available in the regular version of the game, and additional characters.

This free new game on Xbox Game Pass in June is currently available for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One consoles, PC, and via cloud gaming. Access to the title for free is locked behind a Premium, Ultimate, or PC Game Pass membership – meaning only the Essential tier is locked out of it. There have been no signs of when the game may leave, but given its sheer size, I’d recommend putting it at the top of your backlog.

Even though each game in the series tells a unique standalone story that can be enjoyed without having played anything from the franchise before, it could be a good idea to play Persona 5 Royal now. This could, perhaps, make you fall in love with the JRPG series and keep the recently announced Persona 6 on your radar.

The next game in the series does not yet have a release window, so you’ll likely have plenty of time to check out its predecessor. Because of how big it is, don’t be thrown off if you take some time off from Persona 5 Royal every once in a while and then return. The journey through this JRPG, now available on Xbox Game Pass, is worthwhile, even if in doses.
