Being a PlayStation Plus subscriber can be a bit like playing roulette. When Sony announces the next batch of games that will be heading to the PS Plus library each month, some months will be a lot better than others, whilst some selections make you regret that costly membership fee.
However, what members can expect is reliability, with Sony both announcing and releasing the PlayStation Plus monthly games on a strict schedule. On the last Wednesday of the month, the games heading to the PS Plus library for the upcoming month will be revealed. Then, on the first Tuesday of the month, the aforementioned games will be released.
That being said, with previous years being like clockwork for PlayStation Plus, it seems as though those expecting the next announcement on Wednesday, 24 June will be in for a shock following an unprecedented delay.
Put simply, because the last Wednesday of June falls on 24 June, meaning that players will have to look forward to a much longer wait than usual, Sony has decided to delay the upcoming PlayStation Plus announcement until 1 July. As a result, the select games will then be able to be added to the service on 7 July.
It is unnecessarily confusing, but all PS Plus subscribers need to know is that the first batch of July games will be added to the service on 7 July, but until then, the June PS Plus games are still available to download and play right now. This includes the hit survival game Grounded: Fully Yoked Edition, a platform fighter perfect for the children in your life, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, and the action co-op title Warhammer 40K: Darktide (not suitable for children).
At the time of writing, we do not yet know which games will be added to the PlayStation Plus library for July 2026, but all will be revealed on 1 July. With 2026 having some hits and misses when it comes to Sony’s selections, it remains to be seen which category July will fall into. However, we at least know that we will not have to wait long for the games to be added to the library after they are revealed at the start of the month.
So, if it gets to 24 June and you are concerned over the lack of PlayStation Plus updates, fear not, as the next big reveal will arrive on 1 July ahead of its 7 July launch.
