Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay marked a significant personal and political milestone on Sunday as he celebrated his 52nd birthday, his first since assuming office as the state’s chief minister. Political Leaders Unite To Celebrate Vijay’s Milestone
Leading the greetings was Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who took to X to convey his wishes. “Birthday greetings to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru C. Joseph Vijay Ji. I pray for his long and healthy life,” the Prime Minister wrote.
Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president MK Stalin also extended his wishes, stating, “I wish you the strength to continue serving the public with joy and physical-mental well-being.”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, whose party played a crucial role in supporting Vijay’s coalition government after the Assembly elections, shared a warm message as well. Besides wishing the chief minister good health and success, Rahul reaffirmed his support, saying he stood with Vijay in “defending the rights, dignity, and aspirations of the Tamil people, and in working together for the state’s progress.”
The birthday greetings reflected Vijay’s growing stature beyond Tamil Nadu, with leaders from neighbouring states and national parties joining the celebrations.
YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy referred to Vijay as his “brother” and wished him continued success and good health. Meanwhile, Makkal Needhi Maiam founder Kamal Haasan shared a photograph with Vijay and affectionately described him as his “beloved younger brother” while extending his greetings.

The celebrations also attracted messages from several personalities from the film fraternity. Actor Raghava Lawrence, who has recently been linked with a possible political entry, shared an emotional birthday note for Vijay.
“Every year, I wish my Nanba a happy birthday. But this year it’s extra special and I’m happy to say, Happy Birthday to Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu!” Lawrence wrote.
His message has reignited speculation about his political future. While the actor has yet to formally announce which party he intends to join, political observers continue to link him with Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. Reports have also fuelled discussions about a possible electoral debut in the future.
Vijay’s rise from one of Tamil cinema’s biggest stars to the state’s chief minister remains one of the most dramatic political stories in recent Indian politics. After formally launching Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam in 2024, the actor quickly transformed the party into a major political force.

The recent Assembly elections proved historic for TVK. Contesting its first election, the party emerged as the single largest bloc by securing 108 seats. Vijay subsequently stitched together a coalition with the Indian National Congress, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, Indian Union Muslim League, Communist Party of India and Communist Party of India (Marxist), enabling him to command the support of 120 legislators in the Assembly.
On May 10, Vijay was sworn in as Tamil Nadu’s ninth chief minister at Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium before a massive gathering of supporters, party workers and political leaders. The moment was widely viewed as a watershed event in the state’s political history, signalling the end of an era dominated by traditional Dravidian parties.
