Devo and the B-52’s Somehow Find More Cities for “Farewell” Tour

Devo and the B-52’s have added eight dates to the Cosmic De-Evolution Tour they launched last year. Arenas and amphitheaters in Seattle, Vancouver, Grand Rapids, and other cities will host the extended co-headlining run, which had seemingly wrapped in London and Manchester this past weekend. DJ Cummerbund will open the new dates. Check out the itinerary below.

The two bands appear to be vying with Bob Dylan to spool out the world’s longest tour itinerary through a series of incremental extensions: Devo announced their farewell in 2023 and expanded their own itinerary as recently as this February, while the B-52’s started billing their concerts as a farewell tour in 2022.

At the launch of the 2025 tour dates, B-52 Fred Schneider offered the caveat, “We were careful to say to our fans that we would still perform in special situations that don’t require all of the awful tour travel.” (In 2019, he had announced the band’s retirement from “major tours” but said they would still “be doing gigs and festivals.”) They have since staged a marathon Vegas residency and played dozens of shows around North America and Europe.
