Actor Salman Khan’s team has shut down the rumours that his film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace is in trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification. Earlier, reports were doing the rounds that the actor’s upcoming film has been put on hold by the CBFC.

Putting that rumour to rest, Salman Khan Films stated on social media, “Any claims suggesting that Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace has encountered issues with the CBFC or that its certification has been put on hold are false. The film has not yet been submitted to the CBFC for certification. Therefore, such reports are entirely baseless.”

The actor’s team further added, “We request that media outlets and individuals refrain from circulating unverified information. Any official updates regarding the film will be shared by Salman Khan Films through its official channels only.”

Initially titled Battle of Galwan and inspired by the real-life 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese forces in the Galwan Valley, the film was renamed to Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace.

The story follows Salman Khan as Colonel Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment. His character leads the Indian forces during the battle. The film also stars Chitrangda Singh as the female lead, among others.

Meanwhile, the actor was last seen on the big screen in a special appearance in Riteish Deshmukh’s film Raja Shivaji. He played the role of Jiva Mahala in the film, which also starred Genelia Deshmukh and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles, among others.
