Actor-host Maniesh Paul is mourning the loss of his mother, Urmil Paul, who passed away on Tuesday, July 8, in Delhi. She was 77 years old.
Confirming the news, the actor’s team shared a statement that read, “With great grief, we regret to inform you that actor Maniesh Paul lost his 77-year-old mother today in Delhi. We request you to please pray for the departed soul. May she rest in eternal peace.” The cause of her death has not been disclosed yet. Maniesh is also yet to issue an official statement.
One of television’s most popular hosts and a remarkable actor, Maniesh has often spoken about his close bond with his parents. Over the years, he frequently shared heartfelt posts dedicated to his mother, expressing gratitude for her unwavering love and support.
Earlier, in 2021, the actor had penned an emotional note about his parents, writing that their presence made him “feel like a child again” and gave him the confidence to rise every time he fell. During the pandemic, he had also revealed that he rushed to Delhi to meet his parents after six months apart because his mother had jokingly given him an “ultimatum” to visit before she travelled to Mumbai herself.
