The weekend is just around the corner and whilst there is a lull in some of the major game releases of 2026, now is the perfect time to catch up with some of the incredible titles you may have missed over the past few years. Well, to help you with that, Steam is making three highly rated games completely free to play for a limited time, including ARK: Survival Ascended.
As part of Steam’s Free-To-Play weekend, these titles will be completely free to play until 13 July. As such, you will only have this weekend to get stuck into them before you will have to purchase it at full price. However, this will give you ample time to get a feel of the game and figure out if splashing the cash would actually be worth it.
Running from 9 July to 13 July, the current Free-To-Play weekend includes a hit survival game, a multiplayer idle game perfect for fans of cozy titles, and a roguelike city builder. There is something for everybody. So, what are the games up for grabs?
The first is none other than ARK: Survival Ascended, an action-adventure survival game and a remaster of 2017’s ARK: Survival Evolved. Developed by Studio Wildcard, it was released in early access back in 2023 and tasks players with forming a tribe, taming and breeding hundreds of unique dinosaurs and primeval creatures, crafting, building, and fighting their way to the top of the food chain.
Here at Screen Rant, we believe that ARK: Survival Ascended is a game that still deserves to be played in 2026 and still holds its own in the competitive survival game market. So, what better way to see how well the franchise has aged than by checking it out for free this weekend?
Also up for grabs is Gogh, a cozy multiplayer co-working sandbox game that is “played” best when it isn’t played at all. Allowing players all over the world to create their very own avatars, build their own rooms, and customize their experiences, Gogh is aimed at being a focus, work, and study tool. If you are a fan of putting some lo-fi on in the background as you work, you may want to check out this unique experience which will see you, and millions of other players, “come together” in a virtual environment to encourage productivity.
Last, but by no means least, is Against the Storm. This city-building title set in a dark fantasy world will task you with rebuilding civilization in the face of apocalyptic ruin. As such, you will be the leader of humans and animals alike as you reclaim the wilderness and secure a future for the world’s last survivors.
As is always the case with Steam’s Free-To-Play weekends, these three titles will receive heavy discounts following the event and so, if you find yourself enjoying your time with any of them, make sure to take advantage of Steam’s latest freebies.
