It’s our fortune Janaki garu sung iconic songs like Porapatidhi, Hayamma Hayamma (Ladies Tailor), Suman Prati Sumam, Maataraani Mounamidi (Maharshi) for our production house. Even today people message me when they listen to those songs and reminisce Janakkamma’s vocals. Such was her profound impact on the cinema. She was a woman par excellence and collaborating with her was a truly memorable experience. In 2014, for my film Raghuvaran B. Tech (Telugu version), there was one deeply emotional song “Amma Amma.” I approached Janaki garu to sing the song, but she wasn’t keen. Later, I insisted saying that only she can do justice to such track. She obliged out of respect she had on me. The song turned out to be a beautiful one.
