Priyanka Chopra Jonas turned 44 on July 18. To celebrate the occasion, filmmaker SS Rajamouli unveiled her first look from his upcoming film, Varanasi. The filmmaker introduced her character, Mandakini, through two striking stills. Rajamouli accompanied the post with a simple yet evocative caption that read, “Grace when she smiles. Fire when she doesn’t. Mandakini…”
The first still features Priyanka in a black corset-inspired ensemble with a textured updo, as she stares directly into the camera with an intense, confident expression. The second image is set against the breathtaking landscapes of Kenya’s Maasai Mara. Priyanka appears to be jumping with her arms spread wide, dressed in a white crop top, black cargo trousers and a beige jacket.
Varanasi marks Priyanka’s return to Indian cinema after The Sky Is Pink (2019). She will be seen alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film is currently slated for a worldwide theatrical release in August 2027.
Meanwhile, Priyanka and Nick continue to remain one of the entertainment industry’s most-loved couples. The two got married in December 2018 in grand Christian and Hindu ceremonies at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur. In January 2022, they welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, via surrogacy.
