Disney+ and Hulu, both owned by the larger Disney conglomerate, have some major releases coming to their platforms in August 2026, including new shows and films, along with some incredible live sports events. While Disney+ and Hulu remain two separate platforms, the content on both cross over, allowing Disney+ subscribers to see Hulu content on the platform. It’s likely that they’ll eventually fold into one platform with a Hulu-specific production side, but for now, they remain separate and bringing different content to viewers as they move forward. Disney+ often sees more nostalgia-based programming and skews younger that Hulu’s traditional audience.
In August 2026, both platforms will see some incredibly exciting releases that should have viewers happy to sit down and watch. From new show premieres like The Shards and The Husband to returning series like It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, the services have a lot to offer in the next month. Another unique offering is coverage of several huge sporing events, including the US Open and the PGA Tour, all of which have live coverage available to subscribers. Hulu and Disney+ may operate separately, but they’re bringing an exciting mix of content to their platforms in the upcoming month.
