Charli xcx joined The Strokes onstage at Outside Lands in San Francisco Saturday to perform “Take It or Leave It.” Watch fan-made video below.
The British pop star traded vocals with Julian Casablancas on the song from The Strokes’ 2001 debut LP Is This It before the two came together for the chorus.
The guest spot played on the fact that The Strokes and Charli xcx released albums on the same day in July.
Casablancas told the crowd the band had a “superstar” guest prior to Charli xcx walking onto the stage. “We had a great battle,” The Strokes singer said, referencing the same-day album releases. He jokingly got down on a knee and told Charli xcx “Congratulations. You have defeated us in album sales” and introduced her to the crowd as “Your new queen of everything.”
