Salaar 2 pre-production work underway
But according to the latest buzz, the pre-production work and script lock meetings for Salaar 2 are underway between director Prashanth Neel and producer Vijay Kiragandur Hombale Films. Despite earlier reports that the project has been put on the backburner, the makers have reportedly commenced pre-production and finalized the script. The production team is working on drawing full-scale shooting schedules to begin after Prashanth Neel completes his ongoing commitments. Sources close to the production indicate that the makers may target release window around 2028 or 2029.
Prabhas and Prithviraj to reprise their roles
The sequel to the 2023 action hit features Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran reprising their roles as Deva and Varadha Raja Mannar, exploring the intense rivalry and clash of tribes in Khansaar. Their conflict shifts focus onto the titular Shouryaanga tribe and the ultimate face-off over the throne of Khansaar.
Varadha’s complex bond and power dynamic with Deva undergoes massive political and violent shifts – something to watch out for in Salaar Part 2. And the action entertainer is expected to continue the high-octane trajectory set by Salaar: Part 1 – much to the delight of the fans.
Since Prithviraj is on the anvil of wrapping up Rajamouli’s Varanasi, his availability doesn’t affect the shooting schedules. On the other hand, Prabhas too is fast wrapping up Fauzi. He is working on his date diary, and would probably shuffle between the sets of Spirit and Saalar 2.
