Union of powerhouse talents
The pairing carries weight far beyond a routine star-director alliance. It brings together a powerhouse acting talent and a reputed filmmaker who has built a cult following with his stylised, high-voltage storytelling. Fans of both have been waiting with bated breath for this meeting of sensibilities.
There is also no credibility to the rumour that Allu Arjun will prioritise Boyapati Srinu’s film over this one. His line-up remains clear, and he is also set to team up with Malayalam filmmaker Basil Joseph. The actor appears to be charting a deliberate course rather than changing horses midstream, particularly with a filmmaker like Lokesh, who is known for his hyper-stylised approach to storytelling.

Expect a grander canvas
Meanwhile, the scale of the film is a subject of keen speculation. Atlee’s Raaka is being mounted on a grand canvas and is even said to be aiming for the Oscars, according to the director himself. If that is the benchmark, the Lokesh project cannot afford to play second fiddle. It is reasonable to expect the Allu Arjun–Lokesh film to be bigger in scope than Coolie. The Icon Star’s pan-Indian pull demands nothing less. Expect a spectacle designed to travel well beyond regional borders and command attention across markets.
