With Five Nights at Freddy’s scaring up big money for them, Blumhouse is sticking in the video game adaptation world with Amanda the Adventurer.
Developed by MANGLEDmaw Games and published by The Mortuary Assistant‘s DreadXP, the horror franchise puts players in the shoes of Riley Park after they inherit their aunt’s home and find various tapes for the eponymous fictional children’s show, which leads them down a rabbit hole of investigating the ominous nature behind it. With three titles to its name, the Amanda the Adventurer games became an instant YouTube sensation, with everyone from Markiplier to the Game Grumps, CoryxKenshin and beyond showcasing its mix of puzzles and unsettling horror for their viewers.
Now, as part of the Blumfest panel at New York City Comic Con 2026, at which ScreenRant‘s Jordan Williams was in attendance, the studio announced development on an Amanda the Adventurer movie adaptation. The film is being produced by popular former YouTuber MatPat, who has also inked a first-look deal with Blumhouse, with founder Jason Blum confirming they are currently in talks with writers and directors to helm the project. Additionally, Epic Pictures’ CEO Patrick Ewald is attached as a producer on Amanda the Adventurer, which has been in the works for a year and is said to be “moving really fast.”
