Jack White had something special in store for the audience at his show in Nashville on October 10. During the second of two nights at local venue the Truth, he brought out his Raconteurs bandmates for an encore, marking the group’s first live performance together since December 2019. Watch the quartet play “Steady, As She Goes,” “Hands,” “Level,” “Broken Boy Soldier,” and “Carolina Drama” below.
White had hinted that last night’s show might contain a Raconteurs reunion on Instagram earlier in the week, encouraging fans of the band to grab tickets as “there might be a little surprise.” That turned out to be the whole crew onstage together: singer and guitarist Brendan Benson, bassist Jack Lawrence, and drummer Patrick Keeler, the latter of whom has been playing in White’s touring band. He’s on the road right now supporting his latest record, Frozen Charlotte, which he released back in July.
The Raconteurs’ last proper album, Help Us Stranger, arrived in 2019. In 2020, the group also shared the EP Live at Electric Lady, which came complete with a documentary directed by Jim Jarmusch. Earlier this month, White’s label Third Man Records also announced plans to put out The Raconteurs Broken Boy Soldiers XX, a 20th-anniversary companion to the band’s debut album, as the latest installment in its vault subscription series. The vinyl release will gather demos, album outtakes, and live recordings from the Raconteurs’ first concert.
