Filmmakers occasionally step away from the director’s chair to explore the other side of filmmaking, and Srinidhi Bengaluru is the latest to make that transition. The filmmaker, who earned recognition for directing projects such as Blink and Video, is set to take on a significant acting role in Mr Lucky, an upcoming fantasy thriller directed by Harshit Rangaswamy. The makers have now confirmed that the film will arrive in theatres on October 30.
The project marks a new creative chapter for Srinidhi, who has largely been associated with his work behind the camera. While details about the character he plays remain under wraps, his involvement adds an interesting dimension to the film, which brings together a cast of emerging performers. With the release date now announced, Mr Lucky is preparing to introduce its distinctive premise to audiences on the big screen.
A fantasy thriller with an independent spirit
Positioned as a fantasy thriller, Mr Lucky aims to move beyond familiar genre conventions by combining imaginative storytelling with the sensibilities of independent cinema. The film is directed by Harshit Rangaswamy, making his feature directorial debut, and features Ram Tej in the lead role. Raya, Riti Shetty and Aishwarya Devaraj Shetty also play pivotal parts in the narrative.
The combination of fantasy and thriller elements gives the film an opportunity to explore a world that extends beyond conventional storytelling. However, the makers have yet to reveal substantial details about the plot, leaving audiences to wait for further promotional material to understand the film’s central conflict and the characters driving its story.
For Rangaswamy, the project represents an opportunity to establish his voice as a filmmaker, while Srinidhi’s move into acting brings another creative perspective to the production. Whether the film can translate its genre ambitions into an engaging theatrical experience will become clearer when it reaches cinemas later this month.
Technical team and cast details
Behind the camera, Sagar N has been entrusted with cinematography, while Prasanna Kumar MS is composing the film’s musical score. Their contributions will be central to establishing the atmosphere of a story that draws on fantasy and suspense.
With its October 30 release date now confirmed, the makers are expected to share more information about the film, including further details about its characters and upcoming promotional assets. For now, Mr Lucky offers a fresh opportunity to see Srinidhi Bengaluru explore a new role, this time in front of the camera rather than behind it.
