Janhvi Kapoor has often spoken fondly about Shikhar Pahariya, but her latest revelation offers a particularly touching glimpse into their bond. During her appearance on Koffee With Karan 9, the actress recalled how Shikhar quietly rearranged his life to be close to her following her mother Sridevi’s untimely demise in 2018.
The conversation began when host Karan Johar recalled witnessing Shikhar’s support for Janhvi during that difficult period. Interestingly, the two were not officially dating at the time. When Karan asked whether she had always known Shikhar was her endgame, Janhvi revealed something she herself had discovered much later.
She shared, “I think he was studying in London, he took like half a semester off. He came to Bombay and he used to stay in town with his dad then, and he moved to his, which I only found out much later, he moved to his friend’s house in Juhu for like a month. Not that I was seeing him every day or anything like that, but later on I just found out that he was like, no, in case she needs me, I just want to be around.”

The gesture holds significance considering Janhvi was navigating an unimaginable personal loss. Sridevi passed away on February 24, 2018, in Dubai, just months before Janhvi made her Bollywood debut with Dhadak.
Over the years, Janhvi has become increasingly candid about Shikhar’s place in her life. During an earlier interview, she revealed that he had been around since she was 15 or 16, describing their relationship as one built on shared dreams and mutual support.
From their public appearances to Janhvi affectionately referring to him as Shiku, their bond has frequently attracted attention. However, this latest revelation is a reminder that sometimes the most meaningful gestures happen away from the spotlight.
