Legend Of Zelda Officially Headed Back To The Wilds Era For New Release

It’s hard to believe The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild will be turning 10 next year. The Nintendo exclusive redefined one of the company’s most beloved series while also serving as a benchmark for open-world games. Perhaps it’s no surprise, then, that even with the Ocarina of Time remake launching only a few days ago, the franchise as a whole is still celebrating the Wilds era of The Legend of Zelda with a new release this December.

When Breath of the Wild first launched, it garnered critical acclaim, including from ScreenRant‘s own review, and was a hugely successful win for Nintendo and its newest console, the Switch. A few years later, a direct sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, was released, which got just as much acclaim and was equally successful. While it may have not been as groundbreaking as Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom helps form a duology of games that some fans consider to be the best The Legend of Zelda has to offer.

Now, Nintendo and FIGURIZMa are officially bringing back a number of items from Tears of the Kingdom. Plushes of Link, Zelda, and a Korok from Tears of the Kingdom returned to Japan on November 6, 2026. A FIGURIZMa figure of Link will arrive on December 4, 2026. For now, these are only in Japan, but these should get a worldwide release soon.

The “SEGA Original FIGURIZMA Link – Tears of the Kingdom” figure measures 10 cm x 23 cm, which comes to around 4 in x 9 in. Like the plush dolls, this figure was briefly available back in 2024 as a special prize from SEGA systems in Japan. The figure of Link shows him in his iconic pose from Tears of the Kingdom while wearing his attire from that game as well. The Master Sword is strapped to his back, which is another cool detail. You can check out a screenshot of the Link figure below.

Right now, there’s no word on how much the figure will cost assuming it gets a worldwide release. The upcoming 6-inch figures from Hasbro have an MSRP of $27.99. A Link statue from Tears of the Kingdom by First 4 Figures usually sells for around $90. On eBay and other auction sites, you can usually find the SEGA Original FIGURIZMA Link figure from 2024 for anywhere from $30 to $50, so I’d expect to see a similar price for this new release.

Considering The Legend of Zelda turned 40 this year, there have been surprisingly few commemorative items. If you’re looking to celebrate, and are especially fond of the Wilds era of the series, then the new Link figure, or the Tears of the Kingdom plushes that released a couple of days ago, are all great ways to show your appreciation for the games.

In the meantime, most fans are likely chipping away at the new Ocarina of Time remake on Switch 2. If you want to revisit the others, both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are available on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 now.
