    Alabama Shakes are again with their first new track in a decade. “Another Life” is the rock trio’s first unique observe because the 2015 album Sound & Color—and their debut single for brand new label residence Island. Hearken to it beneath.

    “After I wrote ‘One other Life,’ I used to be desirous about all of the lives we feature,” Shakes vocalist and guitarist Brittany Howard shared in a press release. “Those we’re dwelling proper now, those that slipped away due to totally different decisions, the what ifs, the what wasn’t meant to be, the goodbyes, and the possibility encounters that really feel divine. This track is about these threads and the way they stretch throughout time and area, connecting each model of who we’re. It’s about letting them come collectively, letting them harmonize, and realizing that goodbye isn’t actually goodbye. It’s extra like I’ll so long. A collective story that by no means stops unfolding. I’m glad we opened this door into this actuality of us making music collectively once more.”

    Alabama Shakes—the trio of Howard, Heath Fogg, and Zac Cockrell—went on official hiatus in 2018. Since then, Howard has launched two solo albums underneath her personal title: 2019’s Jaime and 2023’s What Now. The band are at present within the midst of their first tour since 2017, which is able to proceed via the tip of September.
