    Alfa Anderson, the one-time lead vocalist of Chic who sang on traditional disco songs together with “Le Freak,” “Good Occasions,” and “I Need Your Love,” has died on the age of 78.

    Nile Rodgers, the chief of Stylish, shared information of Anderson’s passing on social media on Saturday. A reason behind dying was not disclosed.

    After getting her begin as a backing vocalist for artists similar to Dionne Warwick and Roy Buchanan and vocal work on The Wiz soundtrack, Anderson auditioned for a job in Stylish in 1977. She assumed co-lead vocalist following the departure of Norma Jean Wright in 1978 and went on to sing on a number of the group’s largest solo hits.
