Alpha sees Bhatt leading the narrative alongside Sharvari and Bobby Deol, with Aditya Chopra backing the film and The Railway Men director Shiv Rawail at the helm. Speaking at the festival, Bhatt acknowledged that venturing into a female-driven action spectacle is “a risk” in the current marketplace. “You’ve not historically seen a female-led action film from the YRF universe perform in the same way as the male-led films,” she shared, noting that the team is aware of the stakes but confident in the film’s ambition.
This project marks the seventh instalment in the hugely successful YRF Spy Universe. The film will follow hits like Ek Tha Tiger, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3. Pathaan 2 is also set to roll out post Alpha.
The studio is currently expanding aggressively. They have recently signed a major three-film deal to shoot across the UK beginning in 2026. This agreement has been hailed by UK PM Keir Starmer for bringing jobs, investment, and new cultural exchange opportunities. The deal also coincides with the 30th anniversary of the iconic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, underscoring YRF’s continued global influence.
Alia Bhatt has had an impressive run of international and domestic achievements. She made her Hollywood debut in Heart of Stone in 2023 opposite Jamie Dornan and Gal Gadot. She also earned acclaim for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and continued her production journey with the National Award–winning Darlings.
