Ranveer Singh has been on the news recently for Dhurandhar’s massive Box Office success and his exit from Don 3. While both happened one after the other, fans have been looking forward to hearing about his next career update. As per a latest report by Mid-Day, he is focusing on working in Jai Mehta’s zombie thriller, titled Pralay. It will reportedly go on floors in August.
The report further states that Alia Bhatt is being considered as the main female lead of the film. It is not known whether talks are on with the actress, but fans have been excited to see the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani couple once again on screens. The report further adds that the female lead is not introduced as the hero’s love interest. Rather, she will challenge the hero’s perspectives. It says, “She brings credibility. In a film this experimental, you need powerhouses and actors the audience’s trust.” The makers will initiate conversations once pre-production moves along in January, Mid-Day shares.
About Pralay
The makers haven’t officially introduced the movie. The actors associated with the film have not spoken about it too. However, the report opens up about the movie’s genre. It shares, “The world [of Pralay] is harsh, resources are scarce, and every character is pushed to moral breaking points. This is not a glossy zombie film.”
Ranveer and Alia’s career updates
Interestingly, if it works out, this would be Alia and Ranveer’s third movie together. The first two being Gully Boy (2019) and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023). After parting ways with Don 3, Ranveer Singh may begin working on Pralay as the first film post Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar. As for Alia, she is currently working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal and Yash Raj Films’ ALPHA with Sharvari.
