There are a number of confirmed sets for the Pokémon Trading Card Game in 2026. From Ascended Heroes, the first set to release in English this year, to the recent announcement of Perfect Order, there’s plenty for fans to look forward to. Now, the cards for January 2026’s Japan set have shown up online.
This is a Japan-only set, which will be releasing on January 23. It will include cards that will release in English as part of Perfect Order in late March. There are 80 main cards in this Japanese set, which you can view over on Pokebeach right now. Additionally, illustration rares from the set have started to appear as well, and you can read unofficial translations of the cards on Pokebeach’s site.
Pokémon’s January Set Cards Are Online Now
Japan’s January set, which Pokebeach has called “Nullifying Zero,” has an emphasis on Mega Zygarde, just like the English-language Perfect Order will. One of the chase cards from this set, Mega Zygarde ex, has already appeared in English thanks to the official announcement from the Pokémon TCG regarding Perfect Order earlier this month.
This January set has 80 main cards, and at least 3 secret rares. Considering Perfect Order has over 120, I’d expect to see around that many in total for the “Nullifying Zero” set, especially since the numbering on Perfect Order only goes up to 88.
Highlights From The Latest Batch Of Pokémon Cards
Aside from Mega Zygarde ex, there are plenty of other cards to get excited for. Illustration rares of Espurr, Talonflame, and Clefairy have been shown off. All ex cards from the main set have also been shared by Pokebeach. The ex cards are:
- Decidueye ex
- Salazzle ex
- Mega Starmie ex
- Mega Clefable ex
- Mega Zygarde ex
- Yveltal ex
- Mega Skarmory ex
- Meowth ex
Of these, only Meowth ex and Mega Zygarde ex have been officially shown off in English so far. Given that many, or all, of these cards will debut in Perfect Order, expect to see those versions of these ex cards soon, ahead of Perfect Order‘s release on March 27, 2026 (pre-release is March 14).
In the meantime, Ascended Heroes will be coming out in English on January 30, 2026, and Happy Meals with Pokémon cards are returning to McDonald’s soon in honor of the franchise’s 30th anniversary. So, there’s plenty releasing in the Pokémon Trading Card Game in the meantime, which should hold us all over. Still, it’s cool to see these latest cards appearing online to see what we have to look forward to.
