Animal Collective have released Jetty (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), an album of music that the band’s Deakin and Geologist composed for a new documentary about the reconstruction of Rockaway Beach after its destruction by Hurricane Sandy. Watch a clip from the film, set to “Boardwalk” from the album, below, and scroll down for the album. A vinyl release of the soundtrack will follow on April 17, 2026.

Jetty is directed by Sam Fleischner, whose previous work includes music videos for MGMT, Santigold, and Animal Collective’s own Panda Bear. Animal Collective’s last album, Isn’t It Now?, came out in 2023. Geologist released an album with Highlife’s Doug Shaw, A Shaw Deal, back in February, and he has a solo effort called Can I Get a Pack of Camel Lights? coming out in January.
