Arch Enemy have announced that they’ve parted ways with singer Alissa White-Gluz. The vocalist, in turn, announced that she is embarking on a solo career, and released her first single.

The statement from the band reads, “Arch Enemy have parted ways with singer Alissa White-Gluz. We’re thankful for the time and music we’ve shared and wish her all the best. Wherever there is an ending, there is also a beginning. See you in 2026.”

White-Gluz shared her own statement, reading, “After 12 years in Arch Enemy, we have parted ways. I am forever thankful to the thousands of amazing fans I have met along the way. Thank you, Beastlings! I can’t wait to share what I have been working on with you all (with some big surprises in store). Stay tuned for big news in 2026 and see you very soon.”

She didn’t waste any time, sharing a new solo single titled “The Room Where She Died” shortly thereafter, and writing, “I hope you love this first offering from my upcoming solo album.”

The Canadian vocalist joined Arch Enemy in 2014, when she replaced Angela Gossow, who decided to step away from the Swedish melodic death metal band, but remained their business manager. Previously, White-Gluz had been a founding member of Canadian metalcore band The Agonist.

Overall, White-Gluz appeared on four Arch Enemy albums, including War Eternal (2014), Will to Power (2017), Deceivers (2022), and Blood Dynasty (2025). Her time with Arch Enemy came with much acclaim, with the single “Handshake with Hell” topping Heavy Consequence‘s list of the Top Metal & Hard Rock Songs of 2022.
