The newest set in the Pokémon Trading Card Game is called Ascended Heroes, continuing the Mega Evolution line for the TCG. Expect to see plenty of Pokémon from Legends: Z-A in this set, along with a host of new Mega ex cards inspired by designs from that video game. Even the Elite Trainer Box for Ascended Heroes features a Mega Dragonite on the cover.

Both Trainer’s Pokémon and Stellar Tera Pokémon ex cards return in Ascended Heroes, leading to a pretty stacked line-up of fan-favorite Pokémon and characters, as well as showing off the new Mega Evolution Pokémon from Legends: Z-A. However, some all-stars from Scarlet and Violet also make appearances, so there’s a little something here for everyone.

What’s Included In Ascended Heroes’ Elite Trainer Box

Card Dividers, Promo Card, & More

As with past Elite Trainer Boxes, the Ascended Heroes ETB includes a number of collectibles alongside the typical booster packs. You’ll also get an N’s Zekrom promo card, a special illustration rare with 130 HP and two moves: Shred (for 70 damage) and Rampaging Thunder (for 250). The card itself is fine, but the artwork is flat-out gorgeous.

Here’s everything included in the Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Box:

    • 65 card sleeves
    • 40 Energy cards
    • 9 booster packs
    • 6 damage-counter dice
    • 6 card dividers
    • 1 coin-clip die
    • 1 plastic coin
    • 1 full-art promo card of N’s Zekrom
    • 1 player guidebook
    • 1 code card for Pokémon TCG Live
    • 1 storage box to hold it all

The card sleeves and coin feature Mega Dragonite, and so does one side of the card dividers. The opposite side features a stylized yellow Poké Ball on a turquoise background. The 6 dice are black and purple, and the coin-flip die is a cool shade of neon green and black.

New Mega Ex Cards Reign In Ascended Heroes

Mega Charizard Ex & More Take Center Stage

While there’s no guarantee you’ll get any of these cards in the Elite Trainer Box, Ascended Heroes comes with a number of chase cards, including full art versions of Mega Dragonite ex and Mega Gengar ex. Standard ex cards include those for Charizard Y and the Legends: Z-A Starters’ final evolutions: Emboar, Meganium, and Feraligatr.

Trainer’s Pokémon also return, so expect to see a number of them from the likes of the Gen 5 and Gen 2 games, Scarlet and Violet, and even Gen 1 (Erika’s Pokémon make several appearances, for example). You can also expect to find Team Rocket’s Pokémon returning, as well as Tera versions for popular Pokémon like Pikachu.

How Ascended Heroes ETB Compares To Previous Boxes

Is The Newest ETB Worth It?

Pokemon TCG Ascended Heroes ETB Contents

Ascended Heroes may be the most fully stacked Pokémon TCG set to date, since it blends just about every kind of card from past Scarlet & Violet and Mega Evolution series into a single collection. In terms of the Elite Trainer Box, this one feels pretty special. The promo card of N’s Zekrom is one of the coolest ETB promos in recent memory, and the color scheme of Mega Dragonite artwork is great.

There’s nothing too out of the ordinary in Ascended Heroes‘ ETB. It includes all the standard contents we’ve come to expect, but what sets it apart is the quality. The promo card is excellent, the card sleeves and dividers look really cool. If you’re a fan of Mega Dragonite, then you’ll definitely want to grab it. Overall, the Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Box is a great way to kick off 2026 in the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
