When people think of Battlestar Galactica, they often picture the 2000s series, but it’s hard to believeit actually started in 1978. The original show only lasted one season, but in 2003, it was revived and reimagined. That’s the show most people know today, starring Edward James Olmos as William Adama, and Katee Sackhoff as Starbuck. Many cast members went on to have successful careers, and Battlestar Galactica often comes up at fan, comic, and sci-fi conventions. It’s one of those sci-fi shows that ends up in nearly every conversation, and pretty much every fan wants it to come back. Now,…

It’s a shame that the Emmy for Outstanding Music Supervision was only instituted during its farewell season, because Girls really deserved to sweep for six years straight. The HBO series’ soundtrack, overseen by Manish Raval and Tom Wolfe, was a paragon of the form, punching up the show’s emotional moments and elevating its comedic beats to gut-busting, frequently excruciating heights. (“You can be my white Kate Moss tonight.”) Think back on that one Girls scene that imprinted itself on your psyche. Chances are, it was accompanied by one of Raval and Wolfe’s thoughtful selections. (For me, it’s when Aimee Mann’s…

The PlayStation 2 was home to some of the greatest RPGs ever made. From sprawling adventures to stories that stayed with players long after the credits rolled, the console had no shortage of classics. But nostalgia has a funny way of making us forget the parts of our favorite games that haven’t stood the test of time. Some things that felt perfectly normal back then can make you raise an eyebrow today. And it’s not always about clunky controls or graphics that look like they’ve been dragged through a decade of dust. Sometimes, it’s the writing or a character arc…
This hearty lentil curry recipe is perfect on a cool day. Featuring tender lentils and plentiful veggies, it’s nicely spiced with curry powder and cumin. Curious about the spice level? I’d classify it as mild. The dish is lightly creamy thanks to some coconut milk, but not heavy. Make this curry when you want to warm up and eat your vegetables as the same time. I tested this recipe five times with a variety of vegetables and love the final combination of onion, bell pepper, carrot, potato and cauliflower. You could treat it as a light main dish or a…
Play video content Danny DeVito might’ve bit off more than he could chew when he and his best bud Michael Douglas once got pulled over … because he ended up with a belly full of joints. Michael went on Joe Rogan’s podcast, recalling a time he and Danny were on their way to an event, with some weed in tow, when they saw the flashing lights of a cop car in their rearview mirror. The “Fatal Attraction” star says he got out of the car, admitting only to having made an illegal left turn, to smooth things over with the…
